Jules
@julescookecircus
Originally hailing from a musical theatre background, Jules has been performing "with stick" globally for over a decade - very much the limb she never knew she was missing.
She first began blending dance and drama with contact staff back in 2016, where she was quickly noticed for her unique style, winning her the judges' vote for "British Young Juggler of the Year Competition 2017" (BYJOTY) and British Juggling Convention. Since then, she's never stopped spinning - and is always happy to share her skills.
Jules is a huge contributor to the community, through their work with Performers Without Boarders, Stiklings, many an EJC Fire Gala, and plenty of pitching in with BYJOTY
A contact staff workshop for anyone who wants to explore movement, flow and whole-body connection with the prop. Expect accessible drills, creative sequences, movement prompts and space to think beyond tricks.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Explore how to move with your contact staff in this open-level workshop focused on flow, sequencing and whole-body awareness.
Designed for all levels, this session offers a basic introduction to finding movement with the staff, rather than treating it as something separate from the body. Jules will guide participants through accessible ideas for building flow into sequences, creating more space in their movement and connecting staff technique with dance, drama and expression.
The workshop will encourage participants to think about the whole body while spinning, helping them move with more confidence, creativity and ease.
Level: Open to all
Props: Contact staff recommended; a few will be available to borrow on the day
Capacity: To be confirmed
Safety notes: Impact risk due to prop use. Please wear clothing you can move in, avoiding loose hanging fabric where possible. Bring a hair tie if needed.
An advanced contact staff workshop for spinners who want to bring more movement, flow and whole-body awareness into bigger or more technical sequences. Expect creative pathways, sequence work and deeper exploration of moving with the staff.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Take your contact staff movement further in this advanced workshop focused on flow, sequencing and whole-body connection.

The workshop will look at how contact staff can move beyond isolated technique, helping participants connect bigger pathways, transitions and ideas into a more fluid practice.
Level: Advanced
Prerequisites: Steve, Angel Roll and some fishtail knowledge
Props: Contact staff recommended; a few will be available to borrow on the day
Capacity: To be confirmed
Safety notes: Impact risk due to prop use. Please wear clothing you can move in, avoiding loose hanging fabric where possible. Bring a hair tie if needed.

Friday Metal Night is back

Saturday Psytrance, Jungle and Drum & Bass
On Saturday, expect psychedelic sounds, jungle and drum and bass carrying the fire into the night, with space for both movement and community around the edges.
Sunday Psydub Flowdown
Sunday night will bring things into a softer, deeper landing with chilled, flowy psydub vibes in the Fire Space. Expect warm bass, spacious grooves and slower, more hypnotic sounds for people who want to move, stretch, spin, unwind or simply settle into the final night together. A gentler close to the weekend, with room to flow, breathe and soak it all in.
